I have been working on a new series of drawings on wood. These precious pieces will be at The Artist Project 2016 as part of Rebecca Houston's Northern Beaver Gallery, which distributes small works of art in vending machines. More information can be found here!
The 2016 letterpress calendar by Graven Feather should be done by mid October!
I am currently one of 2 leads at Graven Feather Studio & Gallery, with acting Director Pam Lobb as the other, greater, half. Our little arts space is located in downtown Toronto, Canada, in the very beautiful and culturally rich West Queen West district, known for its galleries and small businesses. It is a lovely place to spend ones time. I really love it.
This year, as we do every year, we are working on an absolutely wonderful project, our annual Letterpress Calendar. The funds generated from it go 100% to the operating costs of the organisation, and as we receive no funding we tend to try our very best to make this calendar something special so that people can't help but love it and buy it! This year's calendar, I believe, will be our very best. In the past, our calendars have had themes such as the all-Canadian 'Creatures" theme, "Botanicals", and "Landscape". This year our theme is something closer to "Storytelling" or "Fairytales", which will benefit from the vibrant souls and imagination behind Graven Feather. I hope you'll all come visit at 906 Queen Street West, Toronto ON, Canada, and check it out.
So, here are some of the preliminary drawings which will eventually all be printed as letterpress months in the 2016 calendar. Hope you like them!
